KEMPER COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS: Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Kemper County, Mississippi in the Kemper County Courthouse, DeKalb, MS until 10:00 A.M. on the 3rd day of August, 2007 and shortly thereafter opened for the construction of a 30,500 square foot metal building expansion to an existing facility located in the John C. Stennis Industrial Park. Principal items of work include furnishing, erecting, and finishing the building and construction of a recessed truck dock. BASIS OF AWARD: The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis the lump sum bid for work described in the contract documents combined with additive alternates to provide a facility within available funds. The work to be done is shown on the plans. The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement all minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or natural origin in consideration for an award. A portion of the project is being funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration. SPECIFICATIONS are on file in the Office of the County Engineer, Meridian, Mississippi. PLANS AND BID FORMS may be secured from Terrell W. Temple, County Engineer for Kemper County, Mississippi, 1724B-23rd Ave., Meridian, MS 39301 upon payment of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) which will not be refunded. Certified check or bid bond for five (5%) percent of the total bid, made payable to Kemper County, must accompany each proposal as required by State Law. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities.
