NOXUBEECOUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS SECTION 900 NOTICE OF ADVERTISEMENT: Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Noxubee County, Mississippi in the Noxubee County Courthouse, Macon, MS until 10:00 A.M. on the 4th day of September, 2007 and shortly thereafter opened for the construction of drainage structures and clearing and grubbing on approximately 3.3 (+/-) miles of Lynn Creek Road and Bluff Lake Road known as County Project No. NNWR-04(RC), Phase I. Principal items of work include approximately 243 cubic yards of concrete, 41,604 pounds of reinforcing steel, 240 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe and clearing and grubbing. BASIS OF AWARD: The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of unit prices and quantities in the contract documents. Actual work quantities performed shall be based on availability of local funds. The attention of the BIDDER is directed to the State and Federal laws governing selection of and employment of labor. MINIMUM WAGE RATES for this project have been predetermined by the Secretary of the Department of Labor in accordance with the requirements of Federal regulations governing the expenditure of FEDERAL FUNDS and are set out in the labor regulations contained in the proposal. The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement all minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color or natural origin in consideration for an award. SPECIFICATIONS are on file in the Office of the County Engineer, Meridian, Mississippi. This project shall be constructed in accordance with the latest publications of the MISSISSIPPI STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR STATE AID ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION. PLANS AND PROPOSALS may be secured from Terrell W. Temple, County Engineer for Noxubee County, Mississippi, 1724B-23rd Ave., Meridian, MS 39301 upon payment of fifty dollars ($50.00) which will not be refunded. Certified check or bid bond for five (5%) percent of the total bid, made payable to Noxubee County must accompany each proposal. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposal will not be considered in making the award.
